“Fed Throws Banks a Curve Ball” was the headline in yesterday’s Heard On The Street in the Wall Street Journal. It may have been a curve ball but like a good baseball player you should have been at the plate and have been ready physically and mentally to hit a breaking pitch. Just like a good ball player the key to being successful lies in being able to hit the pitch and not just swinging at it. Being successful at hitting curve balls begins with being able to recognize the pitch early so you have more time to determine whether to lay off or to swing.
